These two photos show the town of Wadi ad-Dawasir in Saudi Arabia on June 30, 2000, and April 26, 2017. This area receives about 8 inches of rain per year, so farmers pump groundwater to irrigate their crops. The water they are using is believed to be 30,000 years old.
