A “big idea” organizer is a visual metaphor. Up top, it has a large, abstract idea. In the case of Power, this big idea could be:

  • Power comes in many forms
  • Power can be used or abused.
  • Power can be visible or invisible.
  • Power leads to change.
  • Or whatever ideas students come up with!

Supporting the big idea are 3-5 columns. Students will fill those columns with specific examples that support their big idea.
