Objective

Students will write a structured, sensory poem based on a woodblock print from Japan's most famous artist.

Steps

  1. First, students just look at the print and notice interesting details.
  2. Then, then answer a few focusing questions.
  3. Now, your students will use a six-line structure to write a brief poem based on the print.
  4. Finally, they revise their writing to add some sizzle!
