Objective

Students will write a structured piece of poetry based on details in Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons.

Steps

  1. First, students just notice interesting details about this piece.
  2. Then, they answer a few focusing questions to get them thinking deeper.
  3. Now, using a six-line structure, students will write the first draft of their poem.
  4. Finally, they will revise their writing to make it sizzle!
