Self Portraits: Text Art

Objective

Students will create a self-portrait using adjectives that describe themselves.

In this art lesson, students should:

  1. Complete the first self-portrait activity.
  2. Select 3 - 5 adjectives (perhaps as an acrostic poem)
  3. Outline their self-portrait using the adjectives

Encourage them to explore different techniques: size, shape, and thickness of letters. Color is optional but could be another fun effect. Optional: use different colored pens to add an extra effect
