Scope and Sequence
In 2012, Byrdseed.TV originally started as a collection of my workshops. It was just me lecturing at the camera!
But by 2014, I realized that teachers just want the lessons made for them – obvious in retrospect! So Byrdseed.TV transformed into a library of student-facing lessons rather than mini-lectures.
But my thinking was that of an individual teacher, looking for lessons for one classroom. As more and more districts adopted Byrdseed.TV, it became apparent that we needed a full scope and sequence. Something to tell Grade 3 teachers what to use versus Grade 4 and so on.
That has been our most recent phase. Rather than one single Author’s Voice lessons (which could adapt easily across grades), I’m doing the adapting for you – breaking a single lesson into several versions you can use with different age groups.
My goal is to provide a coherent set of gifted and talented lessons that extend across grade levels and cover your state standards.
Here’s a work-in-progress snapshot of one slice of the Language Arts scope and sequence.
