Objective

Students will strategically connect dots, looking to be the last to add to the snake.

Using a grid, students will connect dots to create an increasingly long snake. The last one to add a line wins.

  1. On each move, the player's new line must connect two dots and form a vertical, horizontal, or 45º line.
  2. The lines cannot cross over the snake or reuse the dots within the snake.
  3. Each new line must start at one of the ends of the snake.
  4. Eventually, one player will not be able to add another line and they lose.

For variations, check out Ben Orlin's writeup.
