Writing in Pilish

🔓 This is an unlocked sample! Byrdseed.TV is open for new memberships through October 1st, 2021. Join today!

Students will write a sentence (or more) in which each word's length matches the next digit of pi.

Since the first eight digits of pi are 3.1415926, I could write a Pilish sentence like this: Now, I took a jazzy crocodile to Sweden. Each word's length matches with the corresponding digit of pi.

More information about Pilish can be found on Wikipedia.

Encourage students to be creative and come up with interesting ways to work within (or around!) the rules.

  1. Students come up with at least one six-letter word to finish my sentence.
  2. Now, then are free to write as much as they'd like in Pilish.

The registration window closes on October 1st, 2021
