Objective

Using the concept attainment model (See here for more details), students analyze two groups of sentences to determine the patterns I've set up. This time, it's transitive vs intransitive verbs.

Steps

  1. Students receive two groups of example sentences. They ponder why they were placed into those two categories.
  2. We add three ungrouped examples. Now students decide which groups those examples belong in.
  3. We reveal the correct groupings then discuss the differences between the two groups. Group A features transitive verbs and Group B features intransitive verbs. We close with a practice worksheet.

"I just subscribed to Byrdseed.TV and am loving it -- though it is kind of scary addictive in a binge-watching kind of way (that, by the way, is a compliment)."  ~  Elizabeth from Florida
