"Challenging" tasks are often merely hard. What if we aimed for "Interesting" instead?
Follow up question: so, how do you make something interesting?
The best way is to think back to when you were first learning the topic (beware the curse of knowledge here!) and ask yourself: what was surprising about this? Humans are instinctually drawn to surprising things that don't seem to fit our patterns. "Surprising" goes hand-in-hand with "interesting."
