Not Like The Others: Natural Disasters
Objective
Students will research and analyze four types of natural disasters, finding at least one reason why each one is not like the others.
- Earthquakes are the only ones that are invisible! You can’t actually see an earthquake, just its effects.
- Tornadoes are the only ones that emit an electric field - although this doesn’t always mean lightning. (Tornadoes are also the one that'll take you to Oz!)
- Hurricanes are the only of these disasters that are powered by water and must begin over an ocean.
- Volcanoes are the only ones that involve molten rock and the ash from their eruptions can disrupt air travel across the world.
