Objective

Students will use their understanding of how to order sets of fractions to work through a Fraction Ordering Tournament.

  • They find (or you give them) eight sets of three fractions.
  • They work through a tournament bracket to determine which set of fractions is trickiest to order.
  • As they go, they explain their thinking for each decision.

This task is perfect for a small group of students who have mastered ordering fractions and need something more interesting to do.
