Beniy Waisanen explains how he uses the inductive model of instruction to improve his students' response to literature.

Rather than starting with an opinion (the big idea), his students start by collecting and analyzing important passages (details). Then they look for patterns within these passages. After naming these patterns, students finally start to form their opinion, which becomes the thesis of their response to literature.

You'll learn how Mr. Waisanen uses color coding, large photocopies, and even cutting and pasting to help his students analyze literature.
